Before making major changes to your website, download a backup of your files and, if your site uses a database, a database export as well.
1. Log in to the hosting control panel link supplied in your DIC welcome email. For current DIC-managed hosting this is usually the web hosting/admin panel for your domain, not an old CWPpro or cPanel address. If you are unsure which panel applies to your account, open a support ticket.
2. Open File Manager or the backup section.
3. Select the website folder, usually public_html, and use the Compress, Archive, Download, or Backup option offered by the panel.
4. If your website uses WordPress or another database-driven system, also export the database from the database tool in your panel, or ask DIC support to make a verified backup for you.
5. Download the backup to your computer and keep it somewhere safe.
Important: a file-only backup is not enough for WordPress or most CMS websites. You need both the files and the database for a full restore.
